Of course, as I revealed a few days ago, October 1903 was a good deal wetter with 218mm of rain, compared with the “so called” record rainfall of 145mm last month.
The Met Office knew this all along, but if it had not been for me nobody else would have done.
Perhaps the good comrade might care to turn his attention next to Dec 1876, and all the other Decembers which were also wetter. That’s assuming the BBC don’t sack him in the meantime for gross negligence and incompetence.
